160 trainees from the Druze nests of the working and learning youth arrived today for a rally to mark 100 days in captivity at the Hatofim square. “There are no kidnapped Druze, but we came because we feel that we also belong,” says Mitar Beni (15), a guide from Asfia who came to the rally. “We came to shout that the state and the government will notice that there are abductees.”
In my opinion, she adds that she came to the square out of a sense of identification. “I came with the working and studying youth to sympathize with the abductees and with the state. We are all here, both Druze and Jews, together.”
Mirel Mustafa (18), a member of the masseur service, came to the rally with her trainees, right after they made a video together about the abductees. Mustafa points out that until two weeks ago, there was no activity because the nests, which are in the north of the country, do not have protected spaces. “The parents were afraid to send the children.” According to her, the trainees feel the war on a daily basis. “All the men in the reserves, the children are missed and talked about a lot. We comfort and explain that this is everyone’s situation, and we need to let ourselves feel it. It is not a shame to be afraid, the situation in the country is really not right and everyone feels it.”
