A 17-year-old Jewish boy was attacked by two of his peers outside his school in Kenton, north London. According to the testimony of the director of the educational institution, the attackers forced the victim to say: “Freedom for Palestine.” The British edition of The Times reported this on January 5, the day after the incident.
According to principal Dr David Moody, two young men approached a Jewish boy in Year 13 and, following an argument about the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, one of them hit him.
The guards noticed what had happened, but the attackers immediately fled. The young man was injured, but did not require hospitalization.
“Unfortunately, there are still a very small number of small people who strive to use what is happening between Israel and Gaza as an excuse to realize their desire to create problems,” the director said.
The London school JFS (Jewish Free School) is considered one of the oldest in the world and the largest Jewish boarding school in Europe. It was created in 1732. At one point the number of its students reached 4,000, making it the largest Jewish school in the world. It currently has over 2,000 students who come from all over London and the surrounding area.
School officials promised to increase the security guards’ working hours.
The police have launched an investigation and are trying to identify the attackers.
