The targeted air strike took place late on Thursday evening, February 22, on a car driving through the refugee camp in Jenin. Palestinians reported one killed and four wounded.
As it turned out, the attack was launched against terrorist Yasser Alhanoun, who had fired at Kibbutz Meirav in Gilboa district and the village of Mevo Dotan several times in recent weeks. Now he was heading to the site of a new terrorist attack, so he was recognized by the security services as a “ticking bomb” requiring immediate neutralization.
There were several other terrorists in the car with him. Palestinian sources say another 15 people were injured in the attack.
Yasser Alhanoun is the brother of Amar Alhanoun, who was killed by the IDF in 2000, as well as the cousin of Wiam and Wisam Alhanoun, who were also killed by the IDF in different years.
Half an hour before the attack, drone movement was noticed in the sky over Jenin.
Earlier in the day, liquidation was undertaken in southern Lebanon. Three Hezbollah militants were killed there, including Hassan Salah, nicknamed “Jafar”, who was the main target of the attack and was considered one of Hezbollah’s leading ballistic missile specialists.
