A terrible incident occurred on board a Delta Airlines plane flying from the Netherlands to the United States.
According to the Sky News network, one of the citizens took the fish with them and placed them in storage compartments above the passengers’ heads. The fish began to rot, and very quickly maggots formed in it.
About an hour after the flight from Amsterdam to Detroit, larvae began to spill out of the luggage compartments directly onto the heads of passengers. The plane’s crew, who noticed the disgusting scene, reported it to the pilots, who turned the plane around an hour after takeoff.
According to reports, passengers claimed that the entire back of the plane was covered in maggots, which apparently hatched from rotten fish that someone had brought on board.
One passenger told Sky News: “My family and I were near the scene. The woman sitting behind us told the flight attendant that the maggots simply fell on her head. “I turned around and saw the maggots actually moving on the seat.”
Another passenger said that the smell on the plane was very strange and said that she was disappointed that the flight attendants did not pay attention to the incident, even changing the flight path and returning to Amsterdam.
