Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis claimed the club ‘are done with’ DAZN but they risk legal repercussions for their protest against the broadcaster.
The Partenopei president was furious during his club’s clash with Juventus on Sunday evening, unhappy that he was caught on camera inside the tunnel ahead of kick-off. He told the cameraman to ‘f**k off’ and then stated that ‘they must not do it, f**k!’. He was then informed that it was a Napoli cameraman.
This is partly related to why De Laurentiis has decided to block any communications between Napoli and DAZN; the club president is furious that the Partenopei’s game against Atalanta was scheduled for March 30 instead of April 1, making his players take to the pitch the day before Easter.
As reported by Il Mattino via TMW, Napoli’s decision to stop interviews with DAZN is considered a violation of the agreed contract and the club are now at risk of ending up in court as well as a possible fine.
Contact has already been made with DAZN Italy CEO Stefano Azzi and the 11.30am start time of Napoli-Atalanta could be adjusted to try and mend relations.
