Reserve Major General Yitzhak Brik expressed sharp criticism of the IDF after the death of three soldiers in a bomb explosion in the southern Gaza Strip. In an interview with Radio Tsafon 104.5 FM, he called the incident a “disgrace” for the Israeli army.
Channel 7 writes about this.
Brick noted the absurdity of the situation in which units decide for themselves how to enter suspicious houses, the lack of operational discipline and the low level of organizational culture. In his opinion, every department faces a contradictory situation, with no clear protocol for safely entering uninspected buildings.
According to him, the level of training of Russian troops is higher than that of the Ukrainian ones, and accused the Israeli high military command of irresponsibility and negligence. “Shame and dishonor for the IDF. Wars are not won that way,” the general emphasized.
In response to a question about the real military situation in Israel, Brick emphasized the loss of territory in the Gaza Strip, which the IDF controlled two months ago. He expressed concern about the lack of ready-made plans and the time it takes to establish cooperation between departments. He also stressed that the IDF is unable to operate in multiple arenas at the same time. The general expressed concerns about Israel’s northern border, where the Hezbollah group, which has 250 thousand missiles, poses a more serious threat.
In conclusion, Brick stressed that Israel is in its worst situation since the creation of the state, expressing the urgent need to increase the army, but noting that political and military leaders have shown no interest in this issue.
