IDF in the Khan Younes area

On March 9, IDF soldiers continue their operation in the Khan Younes area in the south of the Gaza Strip and clear the territories located east of this city and stretching to the border with Israel from terrorist infrastructure and militants.
IDF fights in Khan Yunes
We are talking about areas located just three kilometers from Israeli settlements adjacent to the Gaza Strip (Otef-Aza). Let us recall that recently the government began to encourage evacuated residents of these villages to gradually return home.
During the operation to clear the outskirts of Khan Yunes, at least 20 militants were eliminated. About 10 more were killed in the center of the Gaza Strip.
The liquidation was carried out both in face-to-face combat and with the assistance of snipers and IDF aircraft.
Attack on militants in Gaza
In addition to those killed, several militants were detained. Explosives, ammunition and terror infrastructure facilities were discovered and neutralized.
Hamas reports heavy explosions and burning houses in the Hamad neighborhood of Khan Younes, where the IDF is conducting an offensive in search of militants, weapons and mines and underground tunnels. Just three days ago, about 250 Hamas and Islamic Jihad militants were detained there, including Nukhba terrorists who participated in the October 7 massacre.
Let us recall that the elite Hamad quarter was built with Qatari money for the Hamas government.
According to the Hamas-controlled Gaza Health Department, 82 Palestinians were killed and 122 wounded in the last 24 hours, and since the beginning of the war, 30,960 and 72,524, respectively.
