Malmö is waiting for Eden: Israel’s representative for Eurovision 2024, Eden Golan, will take off this Sunday for Sweden. For security reasons, Golan will be accompanied by a relatively limited delegation, which will include, among others, Yoav Tzafir and Avihai Chacham, the artistic directors of the song, and the stylist Itai Bezaleli.
Golan revealed in an interview with Israel Hayom that she will wear white clothes designed by Alon Livna. She added that she would have five dancers with her, and that she would sing without backing vocals.
Golan’s rehearsal schedule was revealed this morning, according to which he will appear on the competition stage for the first time on Tuesday, April 30, at 1:50 p.m. Each representative has half an hour to rehearse, and he usually sings the song three times. Golan’s second rehearsal has been scheduled for Friday, May 3. Then Golan will participate in the general rehearsal on Wednesday, May 8, at noon.
Rehearsals are held in front of a limited audience of journalists, fans and staff members. In recent years, the production has made sure to distribute only short clips from the rehearsals online, to keep the full show a secret. However, details of returns are common on the network even before the live and broadcast performance, and affect the betting tables.
Israel is in 7th place in the betting table for the chances of winning, and in 5th place in the betting table for qualifying for the final from the second semi-final. Since Golan is the only one who has not yet sung the song on stage, changes in the betting tables are expected when rehearsals begin.
