Members of the European Parliament voted in favor of a resolution condemning the Iranian attack on Israel and calling for action against the ayatollahs’ regime and their allies.
Parliamentarians have called for tougher sanctions against Iran, including designating the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization.
A proposal was also made for the introduction of additional sanctions by the European Union against Iran, including measures against the supply of unmanned aerial vehicles to Russia* and terrorist groups in the Middle East. In addition, European parliamentarians propose expanding sanctions to the office of the Supreme Leader of Iran, the General Staff of the Iranian Army, the IRGC fleet, the Minister of Defense and other key figures.
They also call for coordination of sanctions with the US, UK and other G7 countries. The parliamentarians also propose taking measures to limit Iran’s nuclear program, which, in their opinion, “has gone beyond any convincing justification in terms of civilian use.”
They call on Britain, Germany and France to present Iran with an ultimatum on this issue. The resolution adopted by European MPs clearly highlights Tehran’s role in undermining stability in the Middle East through its influence through “non-state actors.”
In response to this, they set an important task for society – to include Hezbollah in full on the list of terrorist organizations and insist on the need for its disarmament.
Earlier, Cursor wrote that the European Parliament expressed strong condemnation of UNRWA and the Palestinian Authority for the content of inflammatory materials in textbooks that call for hostility and aggression against Israel and the Jewish community.
