Raffaele Palladino Shines as Fiorentina Coach: “Anyone Who Understands Football Sees the Work Bove Does”
Fiorentina coach Raffaele Palladino spoke with Sky Sport following the team’s 2-4 victory at San Gallo, crediting his staff for their role in the match. “I’m lucky enough to have a great staff, who look at where the opponents can be hurt at the interval. In the first five minutes, we analyze, then we show what we need to do and what we are not doing well. Then it’s the team that does well, and what happened today often happens. I’m happy with the team’s reaction, they were good.”
Palladino praised his players, particularly the second-half performance, which saw Ikoné and Sottil raise the quality of the game. “We played the game well in the first half too, but we knew that they were coming home with strong pressure. There was no fluidity in the first half, but in the second half, we were good, especially with Ikoné and Sottil, who raised the quality. It wasn’t easy to react like this, and I congratulate those who played well. Everyone did well, I’m happy because the boys deserved a good performance.”
The coach also acknowledged the impressive form of striker Bove, saying, “I’m happy he’s doing well. Anyone who understands football sees the great work he does. He is our wild card, he could play anywhere, he is intelligent, and he also very mature and sees football.”
In addition to Bove, Palladino also highlighted the performances of other players, including Adli and Richardson, who have shown great dynamism and potential. “It was our idea in building the team. I asked for players with dribbles and great dynamism. Adli and Cataldi have great dynamism, but Richardson played a great game and will become a great player. At the moment, I have three strong midfielders, and we also have to recover Mandragora. We tried a good blow in Lecce, but we’ll try again. If we don’t make it, we have valid alternatives who did well.”
