Francesco Camarda’s priorities are not limited to the pitch. The 16-year-old Milan striker is a young man with a lot on his plate. Despite his impressive debut in the Champions League, complete with a goal and a disallowed celebration, Camarda’s world goes beyond the beautiful game. Family, school and relationships are just as important to him as his football career.
Camarda still lives with his mother and father in Milan, who take him to Milanello for his training sessions every day. A simple, down-to-earth family that keeps him grounded. The emotion of his debut at San Siro was intense, but it’s all behind him now. Interestingly, next to his parents were his new girlfriend Sofia, the sister of Samuele Inacio, a former Atalanta player who is now with Borussia Dortmund.
But even with all the commotion surrounding his debut, Camarda still makes time for school. He attends a linguistic high school in the Comasina district of Milan, north of the city. His daily routine is packed, as he trains in the morning and catches up on his homework in the afternoon. He excels in English and Spanish, his favorite subjects, although he can struggle with mathematics, just like many of his peers. According to his teachers, Camarda always has a strong desire to improve, whether on or off the pitch.
Is this the secret to his success? Camarda’s dedication, both on and off the pitch, is evident. As he continues to grow as a player and individual, it’s inspiring to see a young man with so many priorities, yet still finds time for everything that matters.
