The fire broke out in an apartment in a residential building on Elpaal Street in Lod. The call to the Emergency Medical Service was received at 06:17. Eight victims were found at the scene: two men, 35 and 47 years old, in moderate condition, one of them unconscious due to carbon monoxide poisoning, and six with mild smoke poisoning. Three cats were also found at the scene. Two were saved, one died.
