Hamas released today (Saturday) a video of the kidnapped observer in the Albag shooting. Her family asked not to publish the video or photos from it.
Elbag, who celebrated her 19th birthday in captivity in February, served at the Nahal Oz outpost, and was kidnapped from it on October 7.
The publication of the video was made against the background of the renewal of the negotiation discussions on an agreement for the return of abductees and a cease-fire in Gaza. A political official confirmed today that a negotiating delegation on behalf of Israel went to Doha.
Last month, Hamas published documentation and a sign of life of the abducted Matan Tsengaoker. A week before, Idan Alexander posted about the abductee.
Eli Elbag, her father, said at a rally in Tel Aviv in September: “Lyri! A year that I don’t hug you, a year that I don’t kiss, a year that I don’t laugh with you. A year that you don’t work on me, I’m already waiting for you to work on me. My heart hurts, Lyri, and I ask Sorry. Every day it gets harder for all of us. But we will continue to fight together with 10 million, we will continue to fight to bring everyone home, to the country you all love.”
The boy Yigal Yaakov, who was released from captivity in a deal with Hamas, and whose father Yair Yaakov was murdered on October 7 and whose body is kept in Gaza, wrote on social media: “Liri Elbag’s video gave me a flashback of myself over a year ago. Standing in front of a Kalashnikov pointing at me, scared, Begging to go home. A terrorist is telling me what to say, and I’m alone, hoping my mother will see this and know that I just want to go home She’s been there for over a year, a girl just like my brother who joined the army, needs to come home. The Albag family, who like me understands what you’re going through now, we’re all with you, a little more, and my father and all the abductees at home.”
