The IDF press service on the morning of January 7 authorized publication of the name of the second soldier, deceased a day earlier in the Gaza Strip. The initial statement provided information about only one fighter, but now the second one has been made public. The reason for this delay in publication is not specified.

Along with Major Revakh, his deputy was killed, and two more soldiers were injured. According to the IDF, they came under mortar fire during a raid in the northern Gaza Strip.

■ Captain (captain) Eitan Israel Shiknazi24 years old, from the Eli settlement in Binyamin district. He was deputy company commander in the 932nd battalion of the NAHAL infantry brigade.

Earlier, the IDF press service reported that two soldiers from the reconnaissance company of the NAHAL brigade were seriously injured when a building collapsed in Beit Hanoun in the north of the Gaza Strip, where their unit was performing a combat mission.

Defense Minister Israel Katz expressed grief at the loss, calling the fallen officers “heroes of Israel.”

Let us remind you that on December 30, 2024, a 23-year-old sergeant was killed in the Gaza Strip. Uriel Peretz from Beitar Illit. He was a member of the Netzach Yehuda Battalion of the Kfir Brigade. In the same incident, seven more members of the battalion were injured.

In total, 827 soldiers died a brave death in Operation Iron Swords (from October 7, 2023) and Operation Northern Arrows (from September 23, 2024), 391 of them after the start of the ground operation in the Gaza Strip.

Eternal memory to the heroes.
