Kaylee’s story shows began on December 7, 2024. She adored her work and her colleagues, with whom she spent an unforgettable festive evening on December 7th. Mirror writes about this.
2024 was truly a wonderful year for her. She spent a few days in Dublin over the summer with her boyfriend, charity worker Nick Jerrom, and friends. And in October, the couple went to Turkey, which became a real paradise vacation for Kaylee.
“When Nick and I returned home from the trip, I felt sick: I was nauseous, my body began to spasm. It was terrible, so I consulted an online doctor. They told me it was probably rotavirus. Luckily, The symptoms disappeared within a few days,” Kaylee recalls.
She was fully recovered by Christmas and was looking forward to the holiday: “We planned to spend the morning at Nick’s, open presents and then head to the pub to celebrate Christmas with our families.”
However, December 25 began with a nightmare.
“I woke up around 11 a.m. and immediately knew something was wrong,” she says. Getting out of bed, Kaylee felt something running down her leg. In the toilet she realized it was blood.
“At first I thought it was my period. I’ve had irregular cycles for several years now, and sometimes they’ve disappeared for months at a time,” she says.
But the bleeding increased, and the pain became much worse than normal menstrual cramps.
Nick, concerned that Kaylee had been taking a long time to come out of the bathroom, decided to check if everything was okay. “She was scared. I didn’t know what to do, so I called her mom Karen,” he says.
Nick then called an ambulance. Half an hour later the doctors were there.
“I was terrified, but I tried to stay calm,” Kaylee recalls. She heard the words “birth” and “contractions,” although she could not believe what was happening. “Today you will have a baby,” the doctors said.
Kaylee was shocked. Although she and Nick did not always use contraception, she showed no signs of pregnancy: her stomach remained flat, her weight did not change, and her periods, although irregular, came.
“I thought it was some kind of mistake. It’s simply impossible,” she admits.
Meanwhile, Nick remained outside, confused and not understanding what was happening.
After long hours, Kaylee gave birth to her baby. She required blood transfusions, IVs and medication due to complications with her kidneys and liver.
“It was incredibly difficult, but seeing Nick hold our daughter and Mom hold her first grandchild was pure magic,” Kaylee shares.
We previously reported that in the Italian town of Belcastro, in Calabria, Mayor Antonio Torchia issued an unusual order prohibiting residents from getting sick. The move was a symbolic response to the lack of medical resources in the settlement of about 1,300 people, where many are elderly.
