After 11 years of captivity by Hamas terrorists, the remains of a hostage – IDF Captain Adar Goldin, who died during Operation Protective Edge in Gaza – have been returned to Israel.
This was reported by the Telegram channel “Israeli Workdays”.
As already reported, after a statement on Al Jazeera that the remains of Israeli officer Adar Goldin, who died in 2014, were discovered in Rafah, Hamas has not yet taken steps to transfer them to Israel. Israeli sources note that the statement was more of a political nature than a sign of readiness to hand over the body.
IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir visited the Goldin family in Kfar Saba and reported that the process is in an extremely sensitive phase.
The IDF put forward a strict condition: any negotiations on the pardon and release of the militants can begin only after the return of the remains of Adar Goldin. The Army will not allow any changes in security policy until this requirement is met.
It is also known that militants in the tunnel twice tried to attack Israeli soldiers.
Earlier, Cursor wrote that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced at a government meeting that the terrorist organization Hamas would hand over the remains of IDF captain Adar Goldin, who died 11 years ago during Operation Protective Edge.
In addition, the head of government emphasized that Israel always respects the principle of returning the remains of its military personnel, even if it takes many years.
In addition, Kursor has already reported that through the Red Cross our country received a coffin with the body of a hostage killed by terrorists. After this, the remains were handed over to IDF soldiers and Shin Bet employees in the Gaza Strip
