A suspected attempted car ramming took place on Friday near the Tarqumiyah crossing, north of Hebron, in the West Bank.
A driver reportedly attempted to run over police officers operating at a planned checkpoint and fled into the West Bank.
IDF forces are searching the area for the suspect.
An IDF reserve force operating Tarqumiyah crossing stopped a vehicle suspected of invlovement in the incident. However, after police inspection it became clear that the seized vehicle was not the vehicle that had carried out the attempted ramming.
Security forces are continuing operations to locate the driver and clarify the circumstances of the incident.
At the start of July, IDF soldier were dispatched to a different attempted car ramming near Hebron, in Beit Ummar.
IDF troops and West Bank security crossing personnel caught the suspect, who is believed to be a Bedouin citizen of Israel, near the Metzadot Yehuda crossing.
The suspect was transferred to police for further handling.
According to Ynet, he reportedly tried to attack an Israeli citizen on a farm near Beit Ummar and tried to run him over when he escaped.
No one was injured in the incident, the IDF said in a statement.
