For more than a year, the Argentine-born Israeli Itzik Horn has been calling for the return of his two sons, Eitan and Yair, from Gaza. The brothers were captured by Hamas from Kibbutz Nir Oz on October 7, 2023.
Since then, Horn has participated in various initiatives and demonstrations, expressing the great pain that he and other relatives of the prisoners are going through. A year ago, the forward released a video, where the Israeli correspondent Etel Niborski interviews the father in Yiddish.
On Sunday, January 12, Beit Leivik will hold a Zoom event: “Let’s have a conversation in the mother tongue with Itzik Horn,” where the chairman of Beit Leivik, Daniel Glai, will interview Hornen in Yiddish.
Every week Glai starts with such summaries to give the audience an opportunity to speak in Yiddish and get to know people from all over the world. As for the session with Itzik Horn, Glai said that “bringing an important guest and dealing with an extremely painful topic brings us closer and strengthens us.”
The event takes place at 11:00 in the morning New York time, 6:00 in the evening Israeli time. To participate, register here.
