In Moscow, the former “Minister of Defense” of the self-proclaimed DPR, Igor Strelkov (Girkin), was sentenced to four years in prison in the case of public calls for extremist activity. In October 2022, Ukraine announced a reward of $100,000 for the transfer of Igor Girkin (Strelkov) to the Ukrainian side. As stated in the text of the announcement, “Igor Girkin (Strelkov) is a Russian terrorist, the former so-called “Minister of Defense of the DPR.” The SBU and the Prosecutor General’s Office opened a number of cases against Girkin for terrorist activities, torture, murder and violations of state sovereignty. Also announced by the Netherlands in international search for the downing of the civilian Boeing 777 flight MH17.”
