Italy international Jorginho supported his Arsenal teammate Aaron Ramsdale on Saturday following a hard-fought 2-1 over Brentford.
Jorginho started his third consecutive Premier League match on Saturday. Even if he was substituted after 70 minutes, he proved his importance for the Gunners on and off the pitch, as reported by Football London.
The Italy international, a former Napoli and Hellas Verona midfielder, had 88% passing accuracy (53/60) at the Emirates Stadium and showed his importance in the dressing room after being subbed off.
Arsenal keeper Ramsdale was at fault for the visitors’ equaliser before the break. He was hesitant on a back pass, so Yoane Wissa eventually charged down his clearance. However, the Gunners still managed to win the match thanks to a late Kai Havertz winner, so Jorginho cheered up the Arsenal keeper after the final whistle.
“He sprinted off the bench straight over to Ramsdale after full-time to embrace the England keeper,” wrote journalist Kaya Kaynak.
Jorginho has one goal and one assist in 27 appearances across all competitions with Arsenal this season and has made two Italy appearances since Luciano Spalletti was appointed in September 2023.
