The latest Prison Service figures show the percentage of prisoners voting in local government elections reached around 48% by 5pm. On the morning of this day, 61 polling stations were opened in criminal prisons of three counties – Northern, Central and Southern, where 10,177 criminal prisoners had the right to vote.

A significant number of prisoners, namely 4,894 people, decided to exercise their democratic right and take part in the elections. This indicator indicates the importance of political processes even in conditions of imprisonment.

Previously, Cursor reported that the turnout by city for municipal elections in Israel was named. To date, turnout in municipal elections in Israel has been lower than in previous years.

According to the latest data, turnout in municipal elections in Israel was lower than in previous years. By 3 p.m., only 26% of voters had cast their ballots at the polls, a significant drop from 2018’s 32.6% turnout. This fact causes confusion in the media, since municipal elections directly affect the daily lives of citizens, including the management of city infrastructure, conditions in educational institutions, the condition of roads and kindergartens.

Cursor also wrote that the police arrested criminals who were planning an explosion in Tel Aviv. To carry out their plan, the suspects resorted to using a scooter with fake license plates.
