Contact made: Arsenal keen on signing amazing 75m Trossard upgrade

As Arsenal’s transformation under Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar continues to gain momentum, it appears that the club’s ambition knows no bounds. The team has undergone a remarkable metamorphosis from a mid-table mediocrity to one that is now consistently challenging for the Premier League title and preparing to make a deep run in the Champions League. While the Spanish tactician’s managerial skills and tactics have undoubtedly played a significant role in this transformation, it is also due in no small part to the series of blockbuster transfers made in recent years.

The likes of Martin Odegaard, Declan Rice, and Gabriel Magalhaes have all become integral players in Arteta’s plans, and if recent reports are to be believed, the North Londoners are now eyeing another exciting attacking option in the Premier League.

According to a report from AS, Arsenal have joined a host of clubs, including Barcelona, in the hunt for Aston Villa’s 20-year-old sensation, Jhon Duran. The Colombian international has made a blistering start to his Premier League career, netting four goals in his first eight appearances, and it is no wonder that he has attracted so much attention.

While Duran’s price tag, reportedly in excess of £75m, may be a barrier, the fact remains that the 20-year-old’s impressive form has left many in no doubt about his potential. In fact, comparisons have been drawn between Duran and Arsenal’s own Leandro Trossard, who has also enjoyed a strong start to the season.

However, despite Trossard’s impressive displays, his statistics do not quite match those of Duran. Over the course of this season, Trossard has netted just two Premier League goals in eight appearances, whereas Duran has four goals in his first eight matches. Furthermore, the Colombian’s productivity off the bench has also been impressive, with seven goals in 12 appearances in all competitions.

As such, it is easy to see why Trossard could be an casualty if Arsenal do manage to secure the signing of Duran. The Belgian has played a more versatile role in the team, deputizing in various positions, but his goal-scoring record does not quite match that of the 20-year-old Colombian. Tournament returns would suggest that, when considering Duran’s asking price, the Gunners may look to upgrade their attacking options, with Trossard potentially falling down the pecking order.

Ultimately, while Arsenal’s transformation has been nothing short of remarkable, it will be interesting to see how the club’s ambitions unfurl in the coming months. With a Champions League campaign and Premier League title challenge on the horizon, the Gunners will be looking to strengthen their squad. As it stands, it appears that Jhon Duran could be the next piece in Arteta’s jigsaw, with big repercussions for Leandro Trossard.
