Pre-installed apps on iPhone often take up storage space on your device, even when you don’t use them. Fortunately, many of them can be removed to make room for more useful programs.
The She Finds portal asked experts which pre-installed applications take up iPhone memory and why they should be removed. For example, the Compass app takes up about 10-20 MB, and while that’s not much, it can be uninstalled if you don’t use it. To do this, you must have iOS 14 or later installed on your device.
The situation is similar with the Stocks application, which also takes up 10–20 MB. However, if you have used it before, it may have left more data in the cache. To check how much storage an app is using, go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage and find Stocks.
Apple News can take up between 50 and 100 MB, depending on how often you use it. If you already subscribe to your favorite news portals or podcasts, you can safely delete this application.
The Voice Memos application, depending on usage, takes between 20 and 30 MB. The more voice recordings you save, the more space it consumes. If you don’t use this app or prefer to take notes in other programs, uninstall it or clear out old notes regularly.
