A South Korean bodybuilder who found fame on YouTube has died at 35 years old.

Park Seung-hyun died on Sunday, with his brother sharing the news on the bodybuilder’s Instagram account.

No exact cause of death was given, except for “health reasons” cited in the post.

Park’s brother announced the death with a framed photo of his brother around multiple wreaths of flowers.

“On January 5, 2025, 15:51 my brother Seung Hyun went to heaven due to health reasons,” said the post, which was written in Korean. “The parents’ feelings are not accepted, we don’t take advice. May you rest in peace with a heart of comfort.”

“May his soul rest in peace,” several translated comments said.

Park had gained a substantial YouTube following, amassing more than 830,000 subscribers for his channel.

He had previously admitted to using steroids and used his admission to try to bring awareness to how much drugs are taken in bodybuilding.

In Park’s final post on his own behalf, he hinted at mental-health struggles.

While the image showed him flexing his massive arms during a biceps workout, the caption raised red flags.

“Biceps workout today … Weight just dropped at 110 kg because I don’t try to eat,” the translated caption said.

“Both passion and goal are gone. Feeling very lonely.”

In a video posted three months ago, Park revealed some of his struggles in recent years.

“I have been battling depression and receiving psychiatric treatment,” Park said. “Financial difficulties have arisen because I haven’t been able to continue my YouTube activities. I feel lonely even though I shouldn’t. I will find my way back to myself and return someday.”

Park took a hiatus from social media before returning to posting content for what turned out to be the final month of his life.
