The Ambassador of Israel in Romania Dr. Lior Ben-Dor took part in the conversation of the ministers. The Romanian Minister of Transport promised to deal with the issue and asked the Israelis to arrive with transit permissions.
In recent weeks, reservist organizations have sharply criticized the government’s efforts to help those flying to Uman, among which there are a lot of ultra -organization, evading the service in the IDF, while mass mobilization of reservists is being carried out for surgery to capture the city of gas. Legal adviser Gali Baharav-Miara explained that the state should provide the possibility of arrest deserters who are trying to fly to Uman.
On September 3, 2025, the main rabbi of Uman Yaakov Dzhan published a letter calling for those who come to refrain from importing drugs to Ukraine: “Do not bring with you cigarettes with a medical matter.” The letter appeared against the backdrop of last year’s cases of drug smuggling and arrests of Hasids, as well as information that the Ukrainian police are preparing for the arrival of thousands of pilgrims and intends to strictly monitor the compliance with the ban.
