CBS, NBC Ignore Pro-Trans Reasoning For Light Sentence For Would-Be Kavanaugh Assassin

On Friday, Biden-appointed Judge Deborah Boardman sentenced Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s would-be assassin Nicholas Roske to eight years in prison, less than one-third of the account sought by federal prosecutors, because Nicholas now goes by Sophie. The following day, CBS Saturday Morning and NBC’s Today both ignored Boardman’s pro-trans reason for a lighter sentence, while ABC’s Good Morning America did not cover the story at all.

Making sure she got all her pronouns politically correct, co-host CBS’s Dana Jacobson reported, “A judge has sentenced a California resident who tried to assassinate Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. Sophie Roske will spend eight years in prison followed by a lifetime of court supervision. In 2022, she took a taxi in the middle of the night to Kavanaugh’s Maryland home. She had a gun, knife, and zip ties. Two U.S. Marshals were guarding the house. Roske dialed 911 and said she needed psychiatric help. Prosecutors sought a minimum 30 years in prison. The Justice Department said it intends to appeal.”

According to The Daily Wire, “Boardman lashed out at prosecutors and President Donald Trump, saying ‘Let’s not hide the fact that President Trump issued an executive order saying transgender inmates would be assigned to prisons with their biological sex.’”

She also seemed to blame Roske’s parents, “Ms. Roske came out to herself as transgender in 2020 but kept it secret. Ms. Roske’s sister came out as gay two years prior but Ms. Roske saw that their parents struggled to reconcile her sexuality with their religious beliefs.”

Meanwhile, back at NBC, co-host Peter Alexander likewise omitted these details, “We want to get to the headlines right now as we begin this half an hour, the woman who plotted to assassinate Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh was sentenced to eight years in prison on Friday. Sophie Roske was arrested near Kavanaugh’s Washington home in June of 2022, that’s after her attorney says she changed her mind in a taxi while on the way and called 911 to turn herself in. Roske spoke in court Friday, apologizing to Kavanaugh, and saying she regretted her actions. The attorney general, Pam Bondi, now blasting the sentence, saying it’s not long enough and promising an appeal.”

It wasn’t that long ago that political violence was the number one story in this country, but now the three main broadcast networks are refusing to tell their audiences that a would-be Supreme Court assassin received a light prison sentence because the presiding judge doesn’t like the president’s policy that inmates should be sent to a prison that matches their biological sex.
