The IDF and Shin Bet killed Hamas terrorist Ziyad Akle in Gaza, who was responsible for guarding and holding six Israeli hostages. As it became known on Wednesday, November 5, Akle was destroyed by a targeted air strike in response to gross violations of the ceasefire by the Palestinian group.

The militant, whom captives called among themselves “troll”, was a jailer of Israeli hostages Ohada Ben-Ami, Maxima Harkina, Elka Buchbuta, Segeva Kalfon, Joseph Haima Okha and Bara Cooperstein.

The latter, having learned about the liquidation, wrote on social networks: “The evil troll has been destroyed.”

According to the IDF, the operation was carried out on October 29, 2025, with the participation of military aircraft and under the control of the command of the Southern Military District.

Bar Kuperstein, one of the former hostages, posted on Instagram a photo of the terrorist crossed out with a red cross and wrote: “Today we finished off the troll. That’s what we called him – this villain. He was directly responsible for keeping us captive. I, thank God, got out of hell, and he went straight there. Glad to be home. Also glad that this scoundrel is no more. Let other villains follow him.”

Segev Kalfon also confirmed the liquidation: “The troll was destroyed. He was not just a terrorist, he became the gateway to hell for us. In his house there was a hatch through which we were lowered into the tunnel. Our life on the surface ended there, and a nightmare began that I would not wish on anyone. He watched over us when we were forced to decide which of the three would be executed. Today, all six are alive. Some will say that he got what he deserved, but truth and justice demand that he continue fight.”

All six hostages were kept together. Let us remind you that Bar Cooperstein, Segev Calfon, Maxim Harkin, Elkana Buchbut, Yosef Haim Ohana were released under the terms of an exchange deal with Hamas, October 13, 2025. Ohad Ben-Ami returned to Israel after 70 weeks of captivity on February 8, 2025, when the previous deal was concluded. He took an active part in the struggle for the liberation of his comrades.
