Letters from a Zionist studying in Europe – in the 1930s

In the past two years, Israeli students abroad have had to cope with difficulties stemming from the very fact that they are Israelis – not least, hostility from their fellow students and lecturers. Some are deferring their studies abroad or even abandoning such plans altogether. In this regard, the experiences of an architecture student from Eretz Israel in Brussels – then-British Mandatory Palestine – shortly before World War II, as she wrote about them to her family, are illuminating.
