Dr. Jill Biden Tried to Win a Heated Rivalry Season 2 Cameo — and Lost

The Heated Rivalry fandom is a lot larger than you’d expect, and it turns out it includes Dr. Jill Biden. At a charity event for the NYC LGBT Community Center, the previous First Lady bid on the opportunity for a walk-on role in the Canadian sports romance drama’s upcoming second season. Unfortunately, her bid of $35,000 was not nearly enough to get her onto the show.

Instead, the prize was won by two other bidders, who both paid $125,000 for a cameo as well as a dinner with the cast. Dr. Biden does seem in good spirits about the loss, though, posting on X that “Guess I won’t be heading to the cottage after all—but it was worth a shot! What a wonderful evening supporting @LGBTCenterNYC.”

Since its premiere in November 2025, Heated Rivalry has exploded as a pop culture phenomenon, with star Connor Storrie tapped to host SNL just a few months later and the aforementioned cottage becoming a sold-out AirBNB listing. The soundtrack by Peter Peter is now available on vinyl.
