Israeli civilians called the Israel Police after locating a large missile fragment in an open area near Ramat Hasharon, central Israel, on Wednesday.
Police officers, including sappers and bomb disposal officers, were dispatched to the scene in order to handle the possibility of any unexploded ordnance.
Israel Police confirmed that there were no casualties in the incident and that the fragment posed no danger.
However, the police also reminded the public to remain vigilant, avoid direct contact with any missile fragments, and call the police immediately if they find any suspicious items.
Several large fragments fell during the operation after being intercepted by Israel’s air defense systems, including Arrow and Iron Dome.
