The first Monday in May has arrived, which means it’s Met Gala time.
For its 2026 edition, the annual fundraiser benefiting the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute was chaired by a powerhouse lineup of Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and Anna Wintour with a theme centered on “Costume Art.” Anthony Vaccarello and Zoë Kravitz served as co-chairs for the Gala Host Committee.
Guests were encouraged to treat the human body as a canvas, playing on the theme of fashion as an embodied art form. Below, you can see what some of your favorite musicians, including Beyoncé, Rihanna, Bad Bunny, Sabrina Carpenter, Cher, Janelle Monáe, and more, wore to this year’s gala
This year’s Met Gala had not been without controversy, due to Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos serving as honorary chairs amid Amazon’s history of labor disputes. Some celebrities, including Meryl Streep, reportedly declined to attend the event as a result.
