Several major roads in Jerusalem are scheduled to be closed to traffic for several hours, starting Tuesday afternoon, due to the annual Maccabiah Night Run, the Jerusalem Municipality announced.
The roads will be closed beginning at 5:00 p.m., and will remain closed until around 11:00 p.m. when the event is set to end.
Closed roads will include Ruppin, Rabin, Ben Zvi, Hazaz, Lorch, Fichman, Tchernichovsky, Shai Agnon, Ha-Rav Herzog, Shota Rustaveli, Museums Boulevard, Elyashar, Brodetski, and Balfour.
The municipality also cautioned that traffic jams were expected on roads leading to closed roads during that time, and that parking was forbidden on Ben Zvi and Ruppin between Monday at 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday at midnight after the event.
The night run is expected to draw thousands of participants, who may choose from a 5 km, 10 km, or half-marathon race.
The run will take participants past the Knesset, the Jerusalem Science Museum, Hebrew University, the Rose Garden, and Givat Ram Stadium, accompanied by music and light displays.
