Closing airspace for Israel: Turkey specified the position

On Friday evening, the Turkish diplomatic source explained that the statement of the Foreign Minister of Turkey Hakan Fidan on the closure of airspace for Israel does not affect civil aviation. According to him, we are talking exclusively about the flights carried out by the Israeli government, as well as on flights transporting weapons and ammunition.

Earlier in the parliament of Ankara Fidan said that Türkiye completely broke out economic and trade relations with Israel and closed its airspace for Israeli aircraft. However, the wording caused questions, since such decisions were already announced earlier, and the statement about the airspace looked like the clarification of the existing policy, and not a new measure.

Israel emphasized that there have been no official notifications from Ankara. The civil aviation department reported that flights are operated in normal mode and are coordinated with the Turkish authorities. Isralair also confirmed that the flights to Georgia, in particular in Tbilisi and Batumi, continue along the usual routes.

Speaking in the parliament, Fidan again attacked Israel with the situation of the gas, accusing him of the desire to make the region “unsuitable for life” and force the population to leave it. The minister also said that Israel was not interested in the emergence of a strong Syrian state, and added that Türkiye intends to impede such a policy.

Earlier, Kurdor wrote that in Hamas they reacted to Turkey’s decision to close the airspace for Israel.
