The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office has identified the victims of Tuesday morning’s plane crash.
According to LPSO, just after 11 a.m., deputies responded to a report of a small aircraft losing altitude, circling, and then crashing into an open field.
When officers arrived, they confirmed that the aircraft, identified as a Beechcraft Baron—a twin-engine airplane—had crashed. All three occupants aboard were pronounced deceased at the scene.

Following notification of the family, the deceased has been identified as:
Bruce Verduyn, 58, of The Woodlands, Texas
Lydia Laws, 46, of Spring, Texas
Justin Ramsey, 42, of The Woodlands, Texas
LPSO said they are currently securing the crash site and assisting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) investigators, who will lead the investigation.
This remains an active investigation. LPSO said the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office will release no additional information at this time.
