The IDF announced today (Friday) the end of an operation to counter terrorism in the Tulkarm refugee camp in Samaria, which lasted 45 hours. During the operation, the forces searched about 1000 buildings and found over 400 explosives.

The shooting was carried out by IDF soldiers in the reserves, MGB, YMS and Shin Bet under the command of the Menashe Brigade. During the operation, engineering tools uncovered dozens of explosives planted under the roads in order to harm the fighters.

According to the report, the forces searched about 1,000 buildings and interrogated hundreds of suspects, of which more than 37 wanted persons were arrested, some of them senior members of the terrorist infrastructure of Tulkarm.

It was also reported that the fighters located and destroyed over 400 charges, confiscated 27 weapons and a lot of military equipment and destroyed five charge manufacturing laboratories and four observation posts.

As part of the operation, an aircraft directed by Unit 636 eliminated a squad of four terrorists who shot and threw explosives at the IDF forces and endangered them. The fighters also eliminated a number of terrorists.

At the beginning of the operation on Wednesday, a reservist was seriously injured by terrorist fire. Today the IDF reported that the fighters of that fighter’s battalion later on in the operation came to the terrorists, killed some of them in the encounter, and arrested some of them. Four weapons and cartridges were found on the arrested terrorists.
