Why you can’t combine eggs with coffee or tea – the warning of doctors

Eggs are traditionally considered one of the most useful breakfast products: they contain vitamins A, D, B12, full protein, amino acids and healthy fats. Coffee is appreciated for an invigorating effect thanks to caffeine and high content of antioxidants. However, food experts warn: the usual combination of these two products can not only benefit, but also cause certain problems.

About this writes Mirror.

The nutritionist Girl Bansal in a commentary for Mirror explained that coffee and eggs separately can be part of a healthy diet, but their simultaneous use sometimes violates the absorption of important nutrients. The fact is that polyphenols and tannins contained in coffee and tea reduce the body’s ability to absorb iron and calcium from food. As a result, even nutritious eggs may not give expected benefit. Therefore, experts recommend withstanding a pause of at least one hour between the intake of eggs and a cup of coffee or tea.

In addition, both coffee and eggs enhance the production of gastric acid. Their combination can lead to unpleasant consequences: heartburn, discomfort in the stomach, and in people with gastritis or a tendency to acid reflux – even to exacerbation of symptoms.

There is another nuance: both products have a diuretic effect. If you use them together, the risk of light dehydration increases. In this case, it is extremely important to increase the amount of pure water in the diet.

Nutritionists also remind that coffee is able to reduce the effectiveness of some drugs, including antibiotics and drugs for high acidity. In combination with eggs, this effect can be intensified, which is undesirable for people undergoing a course of therapy.

To make breakfast as useful as possible, experts advise combining eggs with vegetables, herbs or whole -grain products, and drink coffee separately, after a while. As an alternative, you can replace the morning cup of coffee with herbal tea or warm water with lemon, and leave coffee for a later time of the day.

Earlier, the “cursor” told about errors during breakfast that lead to serious problems With health.
