Steven Gerrard reveals secret behind Mohamed Salah’s Liverpool success with emotional contract plea

Salah’s Future: Reds Legend Pleads with Star to West Long-Term Stay at Anfield

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has urged Mohamed Salah to commit to the club for the long haul, citing the Egyptian’s relentless drive to be the best and his dedication to the game. As the 30-year-old approaches the final six months of his current contract, concerns have been raised about his potential departure, with the Saudi Pro League courting his services.

However, Gerrard, who has an inside track on Salah’s mindset, believes the forward is not ready to hang up his boots just yet. “I think he is obsessed with the game,” Gerrard stressed, drawing on his own experiences and insights gained through conversations with Salah’s coaches. “You can see it in his body shape, his routines, and I think he wants to break more records at Anfield.”

As mentioned earlier, there has been interest from the Saudi Pro League, but Gerrard’s words may provide a much-needed boost to the Red’s hopes of retaining their star player. The 49-year-old also touched on his conversations with John Achterberg, Al-Ettifaq goalkeeping coach and former Liverpool coach, who similarly believes that Salah’s dedication sets him apart.

“I think Mo is going to be one of those players that we will all appreciate even more when the day eventually comes that he moves on,” Gerrard suggested. “He will deliver for many more years because of his professionalism, so I hope he stays and I hope we get more out of him.” The implication is clear: Gerrard believes Salah has several more years of success left in the tank, and it would be ideal for Liverpool if that success was served up in a red shirt.
