Syrian President Ahmad Ash Sharaa (al-Julani) in an interview with a Turkish newspaper spoke about a security agreement that should be signed with Israel. He stated that “we are very close to reaching an agreement with Israel under American mediation.” “The agreement may be signed in the coming days and will be similar to the 1974 agreement. Its significance does not mean the normalization of relations or the accession of Syria to the agreements of Abraham. Syria can fight, but it no longer wants war. Syria has no other options, except to reach the security agreement with Israel.”
