Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana published an invitation he sent to US President Donald Trump to speak in the Israeli parliament. “Today is a historic day. Your leadership led not only to a deal promising the release of hostages, but also to an unprecedented agreement accepted by almost all countries in the Middle East,” the invitation reads. “Your speech will be the first by a sitting American president since President George W. Bush visited in 2008. It is a deeply meaningful gesture of our eternal gratitude for your leadership, which has been once a century.”
