Every year new trends appear in the field of healthy lifestyle. Some new products have already gone on sale around the world, they can be found in stores, gyms – and this suggests that very soon they will appear in Israel. What will nutrition and fitness look like in 2024? Israeli magazine about healthy lifestyle “Menta” talks about 7 new trends.

►1. Plant-based burgers
If you’re going to eat a vegan burger or faux chicken tenders, it’s worth checking out the ingredient list. Plant Based food is going back to its roots. In addition to laboratory developments, healthier natural products will emerge.

Plant-based meat and milk substitutes will have a much shorter list of ingredients and will be less highly processed. Natural ingredients will be used from mushrooms, walnuts, tempeh (fermented soybeans) and legumes in general.

Among the new products: “green” hamburger, mushroom schnitzel, organic almond milk without added sugar.

Forecast: This trend will cover not only vegan products (sometimes having a weak connection with natural ones), but also healthy eating in general. In any case, eat according to the principle – if your grandmother cannot determine what kind of food it is, then it is not worth eating.

►2. Superbuckwheat: not only for pancakes
Buckwheat has already gained popularity and is considered a superfood because it contains protein, carbohydrates and fiber in the complete absence of gluten. Soon it will become an ingredient in many products in stores, in addition to the already existing soba noodles and buckwheat bread (prihiyot).

Among the new products: a wide range of buckwheat crackers, granola and bread, buckwheat milk, pancake mix, cakes and other products that allow you to not gain weight and at the same time be full. And, of course, soba.

►3. Cocoa for health
Until now, we have paid attention to the percentage of cocoa in dark chocolate (the higher, the better the chocolate), but soon the range of healthy products based on it will expand. All parts of the cocoa bean will be used, including the cocoa cake left after the cocoa butter is extracted, and cocoa powder can be a healthy alternative to sugar.

Among the new products: cocoa flavored water; cereal flakes with added cocoa; chocolate snacks containing coated cocoa beans.

►4. Nutritional supplements powder
A new product is expected in the abundant food supplement market – All in One powder. It will eliminate the need to remember what has already been taken and what has not, and its form will eliminate the association with taking medications, while one drug will contain different additives.

►5. Healthier Energy Drinks
It’s no secret that most energy drinks are not very healthy: they contain a lot of caffeine and sugar, plus there are various chemical ingredients little known to the average person. However, demand for them is high due to widespread overwork due to intense work and an abundance of digital stimuli. But gradually healthy changes are taking place in this market.

Forecast: In the near future, “clean” drinks based on natural stimulants of vigor and concentration will appear. For example, the caffeine in them will be of natural origin from mango leaf extract, and the drinks will contain medicinal fungi, probiotics and other beneficial ingredients.

►6. Artificial Intelligence as a Fitness Trainer

The ChatGPT bot is already familiar to many. Although artificial intelligence still confuses the number of fingers on the human hand, it is constantly improving. It will soon make its way into the fitness space, complementing smartphone apps, smartwatches and clothing. Unlike existing fitness apps that target the average person, artificial intelligence will select an individual workout program for each user, as well as provide advice on healthy eating and disease prevention.

This will be a good alternative for those who are not eager to sweat in the company of others in the gym.

►7. Improved Ways to Get Back in Fitness
They allow recover after grueling workouts in the gym. Research shows that proper recovery after training improves performance and reduces the risk of injury. Soon this process will not be limited to a hot shower and eating carbohydrate foods after exercise.

Among the new products: cryotherapy (ice sauna), as well as infrared sauna. They will not only effectively relieve fatigue, but will also prevent the development of inflammatory processes in the body, increasing its endurance and improving overall health.

Forecast: these methods will become available not only in the gym, but also at home. Those who cannot afford this method of restoration will be offered cheaper solutions, for example, a less expensive “gun” for self-massage, which is effective in restoring the normal state of tissues.
