US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin spoke with Israeli Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant on Thursday to discuss Israel’s shift to "low-intensity operations in Gaza," support for a diplomatic solution along the Israel-Lebanon border, and stability in the West Bank.

According to the Pentagon, Secretary Austin reaffirmed the "importance of ensuring the uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian assistance to Gaza and thanked Minister Gallant for his efforts towards this shared objective."

Secretary Austin and Minister Gallant discussed regional threats to US forces. Minister Gallant offered his condolences for the loss of three US soldiers killed in the Iran-proxy drone attack in Jordan.
