Pizarro: "Inexplicable situation in Rome, Fiorentina favourites. Zalewski in Florence? It would be good for him.”

The former Roma and Fiorentina midfielder David Pizarro spoke in a long interview with firenzeviola.it, where he touched on various topics relating to the Gigli team. In his assessment, Fiorentina and Roma come to this match in a completely different manner. The Giallorossi environment is not feeling well at the moment, despite yesterday’s victory against Dinamo Kiev. It seems to me that coach Juric, who arrived recently, hasn’t yet managed to find the right fit. Therefore, according to Pizarro, Roma is not the favorite, rather Siena is favorite, both for what is happening at Roma and for the excellent moment of Palladino’s team, which after starting in slow motion has found a strong identity.

Moving on, Pizarro expressed his thoughts on Fiorentina’s recent transfers. In his opinion, the club made a real bargain, especially with Adli. The club was good at seizing this opportunity: he would never have imagined that Milan would let go of a player like that. If he’s like me, well, certainly he’s taller… (laughs, ed.). He’s a player with important qualities and he’s shown it in the last few games.

When asked about Kean and Gudmundsson, Pizarro stated that, for their age, Fiorentina have made two important additions. They have already shown a lot of hunger in their first matches and Pizarro thinks that the Viola can really hope to fight for certain goals. They already know they are in an important place and with the push of the public, they will entertain.

However, Pizarro seems puzzled by the situation at Roma. “It’s an inexplicable affair: you can’t sack a coach after a few days who had actually built the team in his image in the summer. In a serious club, something like what happened to DDR can’t happen. This is why I want to say to the Florentines: hold on to Commisso!”

Finally, Pizarro expressed his thoughts on Juric, saying, “I like Ivan because he comes from the bottom: he has all my respect. But if the team doesn’t turn out, it’s because he didn’t build this group and it’s not easy for a coach to take over and make an impact quickly clear game. I can tell you, having been inside the world of football.”

Regarding Zalewski, Pizarro said, “Yes, I would like to join Fiorentina, first of all because a change of scenery would be good for him on a mental level. Lately he has always been challenged every time he takes the field. Maybe a new adventure would help him: just look at how well he performs every time he goes in the national team.”
